If you cannot be a poet, be the poem. – David Carradine

So I had trouble figuring out what to do with today’s blog post… So I rummaged around my Pinterest and found a nice little writing prompt! I haven’t really done poetry since my cringey¬†teenage years, so bear with me. I really wanted to keep things short this time. As I told a friend once: Poetry is telling a story, stripped down to its bare necessities.

Can you figure out which poem is which sin?

1.
You took the match
You lit the bridge
Guess you should have looked around first
Well,
Karma’s a bitch
So,
Let it burn.

2.
Her smile
His grace
His nose
Her face
Maybe Frankenstein is cute after all

3.
News
Studies
All the little facts
All those experiences
Is it okay to feel nothing?

4.
All these clothes and nothing to wear
What tea should I have today?
Should I have the blue or the pink?
Maybe one more game won’t hurt
Oh, why is there so little space in the world?

5.
Red lipstick for power
A bit of heel to make me tall
Hiking up my skirt
Just because I want
One day I’ll have it all

6.
Push me down
Tell me no
Lie and cheat
Laugh
While you can

7.
Window shopping
Hours upon hours
Sigh
Turn the monitor off
And do it all again tomorrow
